Physics-Climate

Group moderators:

Summary: This working group focuses on lake physics, often within the context of changing climatic drivers. A recent focal point of discussions has been lake mixing and its relationship to drivers and lake characteristics across a broad range of time scales and lake types. Questions include: What is the magnitude, frequency and duration of mixing (or stratification) events across GLEON lakes? How do we measure sensitivity to mixing? What is a disturbance (for some polymictic lakes, disturbance could be being stable, instead of the other way around), and what are the timescales of disturbance?
